I am an emergency fire appliance driver, hydraulic platform and COBRA operator and am trained in the use of breathing apparatus, hydraulic rescue equipment and pumps. I am trained in command and control, trauma care involving the use of defibrillators, oxygen, tourniquets and performing CPR.

As a team member I am trained in command and control, urban search and rescue, rope rescue, water rescue and search management. I was deployed to Haiti as part of the UK humanitarian response to the 2010 earthquake. I have been involved with training local Fire fighters in Tanzania where my knowledge of Kiswahili was extremely beneficial.

On completion of commando training I served in 45 Commando as a General Duties rifleman. I deployed on a live firing exercise in the United States, followed by an arduous winter mountain training in Scotland. I then completed a jungle training package in Belize and deployed to Kosovo on Operation Agricola a NATO led tour of duty. I was then drafted to RM Stonehouse as part of the Security Troop.
