Dr Singleton has extensive experience in land, soil and catchment processes and expertise in soil, land and catchment mapping and monitoring. Interpretation and prioritisation of land and soil characteristics for different uses is a strength. Soil monitoring and land assessments for subdivision are a specialty. He is currently director of Natural Knowledge Ltd environmental consulting. He has nine years experience as a science leader, two years experience as a policy and strategy manager and 20 years field experience as a field research scientist in the topics of soils, soil water, irrigation and nutrient leaching. Working with multiple agencies, community representatives and groups is a strength. He is able to use his skills to unite teams and deliver a credible output even if this involves negotiating with several external agencies and differing community views.Dr Singleton has the ability ability to collate and summarise various sources of technical information into an form understandable to the public.He is experienced in initiating, planning and implementing research and commercial programs to achieve specific outputs on time and within budget. These tasks require creativity, initiative, adaptability and self management. He has led large projects and development of local government strategy including Waikato regional Councils draft Regional Policy Statement.
