Responsible for safe operations and preventative maintenance of Front End Loader, Roll-off truck, Water Truck, CAT compactor.Organization and safe operations of yard/wood waste, residential refuse drop off, commercial vehicle waste drop off, and active face of landfill.

Supervise afternoon and weekend crews at Vancouver South Transfer Station. Complete site safety orientations for contractors and other COV staff working on site, resolve conflicts at scale-house and floor when necessary, covering different employee positions throughout day to maintain facility efficiency. Responsible for safe operation of CAT bulldozer and Prentice crane, and front end loaders. Provide mentorship and training for new staff on site safety and employee expectations of roles. Leading daily crew talks as necessary.Perform site evacuations in the event of an emergency.

Developing and delivering daily crew talks for employees. Responsible for scheduling of employees and entering accurate attendance management data as necessary. Entering payroll data, load counts and other Transfer Station related data into VanDocs system daily. Effectively resolve conflict between staff and/or customers on site. Site liaison between COV departments and contractors during large scale commercial floor resurfacing projects and maintenance and dust suppression system installation. Initiate and safely perform site evacuations in event of an emergencies. Participation in monthly site safety inspections for OH&S committee.
