I am a Director of Advocacy at Secure Democracy USA, where I work with state decision-makers to build confidence in our elections and improve voter access across the United States.Before joining Secure Democracy, I graduated from the Master in Public Policy program at the Harvard Kennedy School, where I concentrated in Social & Urban Policy with a particular interest in state and local politics, the economics of social policy, and inclusive decision-making processes. I previously served as the director of WISPIRG, the Wisconsin Public Interest Research Group, a non-partisan advocacy and grassroots organizing group. At WISPIRG, I worked on issues like increasing youth participation in elections, getting lead out of drinking water, reining in predatory high-interest loans, and improving public transportation.I got my start in advocacy and organizing while working on a local environmental effort in Evanston as a student at Northwestern University, where I studied Political Science, International Studies and French. I also spent some time as an Associate Researcher at two research institutions in Paris, France: At the Fondation Robert Schuman, a European integration policy think-tank, and at the Institut de Recherche Stratégique de l’Ecole Militaire, a research institute housed within the French Ministry of Defense, where I examined the prospects of a future shared European Union defense policy.
