Redesigned obsolete motion controller for Mega-1 multi-axes robots using Delta Tau PMAC controller.With limited resources engineered motion control platform using Delta Tau PMAC motion controller and large XY planar motor producing 4,000 Newton of force for a prototype high-speed Matshushita pick-&-place machine for printed circuit board assembly - planar motor was able to switch back and forth to medium performance open loop stepper motor and high performance closed loop servomotor. Modified PMAC DSP F/W to allow accelerometer feedback for XY linear stepper motor damping.
