Performed asset management duties for West Region consisting of 22 power plants, 6400+ MW’s of baseload generation and annual revenue in the hundreds of million. In this role, I focused on the commercial aspects of the plants which include plants that have a tolling agreement as well as full merchant. Some examples of tasks are: negotiating PPA contracts, interpreting contract language, ensuring compliance with government agencies, working with the ISO in response to inquiries, working with the ISO to ensure proper alignment of plants into their strict system, working with internal counterparties to properly budget for plants at a fleet level, aligning our traders with our operations personnel to optimize our assets in the market, develop and innovate products responding to market changes.

As a Project Management Director, the duties include those of Project Development Manager as well as working with existing plants in obtaining Power Purchase Agreement and Resource Adequacy contracts.

Work with the Origination and Development Group in the Western region to identify and pursue new business and industry opportunities. Serve as primary interface with industry leaders and vendors on energy storage and solar projects. Provide guidance as subject matter expert on various phases of development, including permit and regulatory preparation, developing general arrangements, equipment lists, electrical one lines, P&ID's, interconnection application and cost estimates.

Managed Calpine’s engine optimization program resulting in savings of over $4 million in 2006 and $15 million in 2007. Led a team of 4 controls engineers supporting Calpine's fleet of gas turbines consisting of GE 7EA, GE 7FA+e with DLN 2.6, GE LM6000PC w/sprint, GE LM6000PD w/sprint, SW501D5 with PSM LEC system, SW501FD1 with DLN, SW501FD2 with DLN, and ABB GT24. Provided on-site and remote plant services such as combustion tuning, software development, and performance improvements. Developed controls software packages for plant optimization and championed five improvement projects related to GE 7FA+e gas turbines with DLN 2.6. Acted as primary liaison with GE in technical controls issues. Testified before Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regarding natural gas quality tariff.

Led performance testing and evaluation efforts in Calpine's Western Region. Planned, executed and evaluated performance tests of new power plants in compliance with ASME PTC 46. Planned, executed and evaluated equipment performance using ASME PTC 22, 4.4, and 6 using PTC 19.1 for uncertainty analysis. Equipment evaluated: GE LM6000 PC/PD, GE 7FA+e, SW 501FD1, SW501FD2, SW Steam Turbine, Toshiba Steam Turbine, Hamon Dry/Wet Cooling Tower, GE Steam Turbine, etc.

7F Users Group, Inc., dba PowerUsers, a non profit organization, was formed as the 7F Users Group grew in size. The group was formed in 1991 as a way for owners/operators of GE 7F gas turbines to share information and experiences, good and bad. The formation of the group allow users to have a singular message when dealing with the OEM and this has played a big part in how the OEM's responded to issues as well as market changes. Fast-forwarding to more recent, the initial 7F Users Group is still striving, bring between 225-275 users together every year for its annual conference. As a member of the Board of Directors for the non profit, we created another conference, called the Combined Conference, which facilitates Combined Cycle Users Group, Generator Users Group, Steam Turbine Users Group and in 2018, the Controls Symposium. The boards job is to fill holes in the users community as necessary to ensure open and honest discussions among the users with occasional expert from the industry. I've been serving as the Treasurer since the non-profit has been incorporated and deal with all financial planning and execution of the corporation for the users group needs.As a committee member of the 7F Users Group, along with 16 other members, we design, plan and execute the annual conference in May.

Joined Crockett Cogeneration as an I&E technician. With my background in GE controls, I maintained the GE system at the site. Being one of two power plants that are configured as a 1X1 in a single shaft, the plant is extraordinary. During my tenure, the gas turbine was upgraded where I lead the performance evaluation of the upgrade. Eventually, I was promoted to be the technical manager.

Started with GE out of the maritime academy as a mechanical trainee. Before leaving the training center in Schenectady, I was put into the controls specialist training. Upon completion, worked as a controls startup TA as well as DLN specialist.
