• Member of development team who eliminated the need for two workstations by collocating Multi-service Data Management (MDM is an element Network Management System) into the CDMA Access product. As a result customers were able to reduce capital plus operational expenditures and the system architecture was simplified. Implemented using Java and C++ with JDBC access to an Oracle database.• Maintained Perl, TCL/TK and shell script system to install/upgrade release software.• In pager rotation supporting internal and external customers.• Mentored offshore developers. Team size with local and remote members totaled 25 members.

Multi-service Data Management team, 2002 - 2005Software DeveloperCreated wrapper API with another developer to encapsulate the Management Framework Technologies Desktop framework (to run multiple applications in a single JVM). Integrated periodic drops of MFT 2nd party software into MDM development environment by running developer builds and sanity.Adapted a Java Swing application to a plug-in in this framework. This allowed customers to run more GUI applications simultaneously. Improved the durability of the system by employing profiling tools such as Jprofiler, Jprobe and OptimizeIt to reduce memory leaks.

Coded server backend (implemented using Scotty a TCL extension) interfacing with switch SNMP II agent. GUI was a configuration tool embedded in HP Openview.

Developed and maintained threaded (C++) servers which function as one-way translators between the MDM (proprietary protocol) and CORBA Telecommunications Management Network (TMN) standards based clients. Extensive use of Rogue Wave's Tools and Thread packages with Iona's Orbix and Rational Rose for UML. System supported a large network of more than 500 devices.Reduced memory leaks using Sun's Workshop debugger (C++ code). Eliminated server crashing (due to cores) in threaded servers using Real Time Access Checking capabilities of Workshop (dbx).Supported product after 5 other team members were moved to other projects for two years before training other developers to assume responsibilities.Open Management Systems team

Developer attached to support group on HPUX working with C and C++ on circuit tester product. Concentrated on the communication manager which passes messages between processes using sockets and proprietary protocols.Developed testing tool to emulate multiple client requests to aid in debugging a system failure that only showed up in production. Same tool was used to confirm the system could handle more than 800 users.
