On a weekly basis, the Burton plant processed 1,350,000 chickens, and produced 1,900 tonnes of finished product for the direct-to-retail market and for further processing.I am particularly proud of overseeing and implementing extensive national efficiency initiatives including labour cost reduction; continuous improvement; Lean operations; and yield improvement and reliability resulting in the reduction of downtime, overtime and absenteeism. I also played a key executive role in the Sales and Operational Planning leadership team which continually achieved focus, alignment and synchronisation amongst all functions of the organisation.
