I lead Western Australia’s (WA’s) largest vertically integrated pork supply chain with a turnover in the hundreds of millions of dollars and a workforce of nearly 450 people. This sees me owning and operating all stages of pork production from breeding, growing properties and feedlot oversight through to the Linley Valley Pork (LVP) abattoir, and the wholesale and export business servicing customers locally and internationally.Some highlights of this tenure have included successfully steering the Western Australian Pork industry through both COVID-19 and the industry downturn of 2017-2018 caused by a national oversupply of pork; and playing a key role in the strategic integration of the newly acquired red meat division (V&V Walsh) to national accounts and retailers.Additional Achievements• Navigated pricing pressures; conducted livestock procurement reviews and contract re-negotiations; and implemented process controls and management systems to address a harsh economic environment unprecedented in CMG’s history.• Oversaw significant strategic and operational changes to ensure business continuity domestically and internationally through the challenges posed by COVID-19 and African Swine Fever (ASF).• Successfully negotiated the largest pig supply contract in CMG’s history, spanning six years, and worth $400 million dollars.• Successfully created and oversaw the implementation of a comprehensive Strategic plan, encompassing medium- and long-term aspects of the business. • Implemented a comprehensive and evolving Marketing strategy over a three-year cycle, including the re-engagement of Buy West, Eat Best; sponsorship of the West Coast Fever; and engagement of social media. • Expanded the Export marketing strategy to include Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea, providing greater security and market differentiation.

As the National Director of Operations, I assumed responsibility for all primary processing across the country, encompassing large primary processing facilities across five states employing 3,200 workers and processing 3.6 million chickens a week.As the Regional Director of Operations, I was pivotal in transitioning the primary processing aspect of the operational division from private family ownership to ownership by a global equity, public company.As the State Manager – Operations, I had full responsibility for the day-to-day production operations of the State Primary Processing Facility. On a weekly basis, the Burton plant processed 1,350,000 chickens, and produced 1,900 tonnes of finished product for the direct-to-retail market and for further processing.I am particularly proud of overseeing and implementing extensive national efficiency initiatives including labour cost reduction; continuous improvement; Lean operations; and yield improvement and reliability resulting in the reduction of downtime, overtime and absenteeism. I also played a key executive role in the Sales and Operational Planning leadership team which continually achieved focus, alignment and synchronisation amongst all functions of the organisation.

Aussie Pet Health Treats is an Australian business manufacturing dried natural pet treats.As the CEO, I assumed accountability for the management and operation of the entire business, including human resources management; financial and budgetary management; sales and marketing; purchasing and consumables; strategic planning; and production.Notably, over the course of my four-year tenure, I increased sales and grew the business from a turnover of $850,000 in 2005, to $1.7 million in 2006; $3.1 million in 2007; and to $4.9 million in 2008.Additional Achievements• Developed and secured ranging across all major supermarkets and retailers Australia-wide including Woolworths, Coles, Franklins, K-Mart, IGA, and Big-W.• Transformed the viability of the business from one of financial adversity to one of leadership in its market category through cultural change mechanisms and the implementation of best management practices.• Automated the packaging processes within the plant and reduced labour.• Increased production through the implementation of Lean manufacturing principles.• Researched, designed, developed and marketed new and innovative product lines.• Designed and implemented the company’s successful marketing programme.• Gained market access to the lucrative US pet treat market.

Operated a small local business that employed four staff and manufactured aluminium windows and doors, showers, mirrors, wardrobes and security doors for the region's builders and developers, as well as the local community.At Young Glass Service I also operated an Environmental, Planning and Development consultancy business.This consultancy business was contracted by Burrangong Meat Processors to design, construct and commission a new export pig processing plant. The plant cost $5 million to construct and commission.
