Colorado State University's mechanical engineering department teaches students the basics of manufacturing. This is done within a facility called the Engineering Manufacturing Education Center (EMEC). As a lab assistant within the EMEC, my primary jobs are to work on in-house projects and aid in the instruction of students. This job has taught me a wide variety of skills, from solid modeling to CNC operation. Additionally, I know how to operate column-and-knee mills and lathes for metal fabrication.
