BIM Manager for the BART Silicon Balley Phase II Extension

My role involves championing the use of BIM processes and providing leadership and guidance for collaborative working. I act as information manager on BIM projects to PAS1192 and I devise and monitor suitable workflows for BIM processes, tailored to the needs of the project. I manage a team providing BIM modelling and CAD drawing production services and I'm responsible for ensuring consistent quality and on-time delivery of technical models.

Managed a team of CAD technicians providing drawings for ports and coastal civil engineering works. Responsible for resources, technical excellence, quality and compliance.

My role included production of drawings for ports/harbours/coastal works from concept to detailed design. My key skills included AutoCAD 3D modelling, Civil 3D ground modelling, and visualisation (still & animation). I was involved in port planning - particularly for the ferry, cruise and container shipping sectors - and was involved in fast and real time ship simulation.I was also responsible for numerical modelling of ocean waves including translation from offshore to nearshore and harbour wave climate. I was trained in the use of MIKE21 software and made extensive use of the Boussinesq and Spectral Wave modules.

Starting as an apprentice, I learnt drawing production skills including the use of AutoCAD while working on a variety of port, coast protection and sea defence projects.
