About Peter Steckis
Mr Peter Steckis (Principal Metallurgist at NeoMet Engineering P/L has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry. He has a “hands on” approach which he has gained through exposure to gold, nickel, iron ore as a process manager and site operations manager. During his time as a process manager at various operations, Peter has initiated many improvements which contributed to plant efficiencies, which led to increased metal recoveries and plant throughput. He has commissioning experience in gold operations both on retro fitted crushing equipment and on a new gold operation in the Pilbara using a second hand transported plant. Peter has also been involved in the commissioning of a gold process plant in South America. The commissioning of these plants has given Peter an insight into the practicalities of working with start-up operations. Peter has also worked in flotation plants and was a process manager in a flotation plant in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. Peter has been involved in metallurgical consulting roles including project management of various levels of studies and flowsheet development and other consulting roles such as due diligence studies and plant auditing and also metallurgical accounting and operations reviews both in Australia and overseas.
