Chief Executive Officer (Ceo)
Taltarni Winery And Vineyards
Central Victoria
The focus of this role was driven by the sudden, changed environment in the Australian wine industry from a growth orientation in the 1990's to market maturity in the early 2000's. Taltarni was one of many Australian wineries in an industry where the environment and rules were rapidly changing. These changes in turn drove the need to develop and adopt new ways of approach to the market. Key to this role was the development and implementation of a new strategic direction, brand positioning and a focussed uplift on new product development and operational performance. IT and communications infrastructure was improved, with the introduced an integrated MRP system to improve data integrity and visibility - driving financial performance and control. This was combined with substantial upgrade of internal / external communications capacity.A focus was put on further improving viticulture and winemaking to drive quality and new product development. A refresh and repositioning of the Taltarni brand in the market was driven by the establishment of an internal PR team to manage a comprehensive rebranding / brand identity program involving branding, marketing, PR and media campaigns. Finally, route-to-market was reviewed and realigned.Underlying these changes was a strong focus on recruitment, team building and professional development, to improve and lift staff cohesion and performance. All supporting the professional, outward looking and highly competant organisation it is today.
