I continue in my commitment to marketing A PLACE TO CALL HOME nationally and to working out a movie deal for the book. In 2012, I completed the screenplay for a television mini-series on the last 25 years of the life of German composer, Richard Strauss, entitled MUSIC IN THE DARK.The action begins in 1924 and shows Strauss and his family in their daily life as they deal with the trials brought on by the takeover of Germany by the Nazi Party in 1933, the war years and aftermath up until his death in 1949. Extensive research on Strauss and his mid-late period compositions included reading six different biographies and a compilation of his correspondence with librettists, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, Stefan Zweig, and Josef Gregor. I am seeking to get this story produced for airing on PBS.
