The dangerous job of handling parts by hand has for many years been replaced by mechanisms which removed parts from the die and placed them in the next. This eliminated the injuries, but it did not greatly increased production. With the use of robots, hard to load and unload of dies became a common sight with their use. As robots improved, productivity improved. As a project manager, our team implemented many systems for many producers of stamped parts. Today robots are still being purchased and implemented for the purposes of destacking, press loading and unloading, and the set-up at the end of the line for racking.As part of the marketing team:- Wrote articles for publication related to the stamping industry- Identified potential applications- Held and presented at seminars for trade shows- Produced presentations to support our sales team and efforts- Managed and supported the exhibits at major trade showsAs a project manager with a great team:- Automated many press lines and executed diverse systems- Developed processes that improved the handling of sheet metal blanks and parts- Material handling systems to load and unload machining centers- Quality inspection of finished assemblies- Created and followed a project timeline- Maintained budgets, costs, and margins for each project- Executed numerous projects at various stages simultaneously
