A Tribute to Georgia’s Most Prolific and Best Loved Writer.I selected this working title for only two reasons. Like me, Lewis was a rabid Georgia Bulldog. Like me, Lewis did not particularly like to hunt.Lewis Grizzard is a Georgia icon who went on to become an American icon. His unique brand of humor propelled him to national fame. His column was eventually syndicated in 400+ newspapers. Fame led to appearances on national talk shows, stand up comedy tours, comedy and music recordings - and more.Lewis was edgy without being profane. He did not care if he was politically correct, and he did not care if some criticized him. When some publicly did, he made no effort to defend himself or retaliate. Lewis was a complex man. He did not take himself seriously, yet perhaps he privately did. He wrote often about religion, yet the true nature of his faith is a mystery. He loved people often, loyally and deeply. Lewis lived fast, worked and played hard, and he died young. Many of his books are out of print. Many of his television appearances are nowhere to be found in the public domain. My goal is to release the book by April 2019.
