Delivery of interoperability between the IT services of international Government Ministries/Departments. The UK based programme team manages and coordinates multinational delivery teams operating across each of the application, infrastructure and enabling services. As Program Manager I lead the Management Group which brings together the national leads to define, schedule and resource project activities.

• Manage relationship between MOD’s logistic directorate and enabling business units and delivery teams within DE&S. Focused on sustaining operational capabilities, and delivering digital transformation programme to enable continuous worldwide military operations.• Lead team of business analysts who define, develop and propose detailed technical and procedural changes to address broad range of user requirements from across defence user base; including obtaining senior responsible owner endorsement and generating change team mandate.• Redesigned the method for the assessment and endorsement of changes to logistic applications to focus on business benefits, resource costs and return on investment; enabling informed decision-making, prioritisation and supplier holding to account.

Selected as inaugural chief of staff for new organisation, following success on combat operations.• Responsible to the Group commander for operation of all aspects of group headquarters providing strategic direction to six regiments (2,800 personnel) in barracks, on exercise and preparing for operational deployments. • Confidant and advisor to commander, acted as sounding board for ideas. Fostered open and honest relationship with executive team; ensured problems mediated and solved at appropriate level.• Developed and delivered comprehensive annual directive to HQ staff and all regiments giving clear objectives, freedoms and constraints; ensuring coherent understanding and activity across the Group.• Devised and authored Group’s concept of operations manual, to provide specific and detailed guidance to warfighting Division’s planning staff, as well as supporting unit level and individual soldier training.

Deployed as the Helmand Signal Squadron in Afghanistan (Oct 13 – Jun 14):• Responsible for the delivery of all information services across Helmand province including 26 individual projects enabling the withdrawal of communications services and infrastructure as part of phased closure of operating bases; permitting the successful withdrawal of UK forces with no loss of life, equipment or compromise of information.• Managed the selection, training and welfare of all 120 members of the squadron and their families in the planning and deployment to Afghanistan; ensuring all personnel can perform at their very best at all times.

• Managed the training, development and welfare of all 110 members of the squadron; enabling the successful deployment of multiple teams on combat operations. • Redesigned unit structure and extended deployment durations to deliver better prepared soldiers more able to support air manoeuvre operations in Afghanistan. • Empowered junior personnel to take active involvement in their routine work, training and development. Delivered a step change in morale, job satisfaction and professionalism and ultimately improved performance on operations.

Deployed representative for ISS following work in cyber and crypto acquisition delivery team; responsible liaison for between deployed communications commander and staff, other deployed units and all project teams in UK. • Advised and shaped deployment schedules for competing projects; ensured operational imperatives drove priorities. • Appointed as focal point for ISS’s 100+ deployed contractors; negotiated their rights (accommodation, fuel, medical etc) and more sensitive issues such as repatriation.• Brokered agreement with US representatives in Kabul for UK to have access to newly installed city-wide fibre optic infrastructure. Achieved financial savings of >£50k per month.

Through Life Support Manager responsible for the development of support solutions for all generic cryptographic equipment being developed for use by the MOD. Including:- Training plans- Codification and supply change planning- Repair and support planning - Information and support publications

Requirements Manager covering FALCON and CORMORANT projects. Including:- Analysis for the early removal from service of the PTARMIGAN system- Deployed as the DE&S representative on the MOD study on the deployment of FALCON to Afghanistan - Deployment of endorsed user requirements for a Protective Mobility variant of FALCON capabilities
