Initiated acquisition efforts for over 35 solar assets totaling more than 50 MWs. Originated and led acquisition negotiations for a 109 MW wind project. Oversaw development and continued investor discussions on remaining Bluewater Wind assets.

Orchestrated all aspects of development for NRG’s Bluewater Wind offshore portfolio including the 450 MW Mid Atlantic Wind Project (“MAWP”) off the coast of Delaware. Initiated and conducted partnership negotiations and turbine supply negotiations, managed interconnection process with PJM, oversaw technical, permitting and regulatory efforts with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (“BOEM”), led NRG’s participation in New Jersey’s rulemaking process for the funding of offshore wind Renewable Energy Credits, engaged prospective project financing with major international banks, managed budget and schedule. Represented NRG and MAWP in meetings with US Senators and staff. Initiated and conducted investment offering of Bluewater entity to more than a dozen strategic and financial investors.

Responsible for the identification and commercial origination of strategic and early stage project assets, including gigawatt-scale projects, projects in new markets, projects with new classes of land ownership, transmission projects and projects associated with energy storage and other innovative technologies. Traveled to Romania, Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru and Uruguay to seek partnership and asset acquisition opportunities in emerging markets. Originated a 450 MW project partnership in Western US. Managed 5,000 MW Titan Project partnership with BP in South Dakota.

Senior executive responsible for management and operations of Clipper Windpower Development Company (“CWD”). Built Clipper’s project pipeline from less than 2,000 MW to over 10,000 MW in the US and Latin America. Formed a matrix development organization and grew CWD staff from 15 to 40 full-time members. Negotiated asset sales, power purchase agreements, turbine supply agreements, engineer-procure-construct (“EPC”) agreements, and large generator interconnection agreements. Delivered over 5,500 MW of pipeline capacity to joint ventures and 500 MW to asset sales. Prepared CWD team and portfolio for CAPGEN equity raise; represented US assets to prospective CAPGEN investors in the US, UK and Spain.

Managed a team of engineers and data analysts to provide comprehensive technical support and warranty failure analysis for a fleet of 763 wind turbines in the 550 to 750 kW size range, installed worldwide. Technical responsibilities included operational and forensic analysis as well as redesign and retrofit of control, mechanical, software, hydraulic and power systems.

Tehachapi, Ca

Was hired to commission and start-up Zond’s first generation (550 kW) wind turbines. Was field-deployed for 6-months in Texas and again for 6-months in Vermont to commission wind project sites. Responsible for developing field commissioning procedure and methodology for trouble-shooting all mechanical and electrical systems. Developed factory simulator for testing of control and fault protection functions as part of QC protocol.
