I established Wire and Fitness in 2014 after seeing an increasing need for high quality, highly specific training for people in the electrical and telco industries.Following a 30-year career as a NZ Registered Electrician, specialising in the electricity distribution supply industry, I spent four years sub-contracting as a trainer to leading electricity and telco organisations nationwide. It was during this time that the idea for Wire and Fitness was formed as I realised the need for his skills and training programmes was much bigger than the sub-contracting roles would allow.The foundations on which Wire and Fitness is built come from my experience, expertise and knowledge working as a Substation Maintainer and Fault man, performing various roles within the industry including network switching up to 33kV, cable jointing, overhead line maintenance underground maintenance and distribution inspection roles. Peter has also worked on hydro generation sites and Transpower switchyards and assets.I had a specialist role with Kiwi Rail refurbishing the electric locos that came into the country early 90’s, and later worked as a Retail Metering Technician and as a Line Designer and Project Manager with Edison Consulting, working on multiple Powerco projects. I am also experienced in domestic and commercial industry wiring and maintenance.
