My professional education started at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen: economic history, student-assistent (research, co-authorship), deputy of student in the board of the department. As a teacher (master in history, De Rietlanden, Lelystad) I studied and developed my professional skills and aspired to be a class-mentor and a mentor of a section of 200 students. To improve my skills as a coach I was trained as a counselor. Due to my proficiency in connecting professionals I aspired to a job as a team-manager (Oostvaarders College, Almere). I was rather successful bringing different personalities together in a wonderful team working (together with the MT) at the foundations of a new school (Buitenhout College Almere): high educational standards, oriented to the individual and groups-needs of students.I decided to proceed my career on Oostvaarders as a conrector of the basic years (students aged12-16 havo/vwo). I'm a loyal professional and optimistic person , I like working in cooperation with others. My intention is getting the best out of students, teachers, colleagues and better the conditions of education in school.In my spare time I like playing (classical) guitar, photography, sports (walking/running/cycling), reading and participating and enjoying arts and culture. Last but not least: together with my wife Joke we enjoy our grand-children.Since september 2017 I'm a retired professional. Decided to take the opportunity (september 2017-february 2018) to start in a job at VSO De Ambelt, Zwolle, now as an interim teamleider (verv): students (level HAVO-VWO, age 12-20) with special educational needs. Nice to do!!: professional teachers/specialists, talented students, dynamic scene and open minded management team!!
