- Designed, fabricated, and assembled several components and sub-assemblies for an outdoor LCD display- Assisted in the design of a new handheld tester; modified the existing model to include features that were user friendly while taking into account injection molding constraints- Designed a two part fume extractor and filament stabilizer to improve the 3D printing environment in the office- Conducted Finite Element Analysis using Solidworks on various medical and consumer products; analyses tested the strength and feasibility of weldments, trusses/frames, snap-features, and material selection- Participated in the Co-op hiring process by conducting phone screenings, selecting candidates for interview, and creating design challenges for those candidates

Product Development- Redesigned and tested MISquito Gen II Helical Hook, a device that is used to thread a titanium rod below the fascia in Lumbar Spine Pedicle Screw Fixation, to increase surgeon use for alternative technique- Performed tolerance analyses on device using Excel MACROs to increase its feasibility and performance- Communicated and engaged with Surgeons to perfect customer requirements for DFMEA- Evaluated 4 distinct prototypes using sawbones and cadavers to finalize design in conjunction with customer requirements ISO15415 Certification- Updated 100+ SolidWorks drawings via ECO’s to include a Unique Device Identifier and a GS1 2D Data Matrix; determined their location and size - Authored and trained company to new laser marking guidelines and specifications - Communicated with vendors to perfect the finish of the GS1 2D Data matrix on various products

- Prototyped and designed test fixtures for real-time and accelerated aged product testing of InterAtrial Shunt Device System II (IASD) and the Atrial Decompression System (ADS)- Assembled IASD and ADS devices in sterile environments; used ultrasonic cleaners, heat sealers, and related fixturing- Initiated ECO’s to modify equipment profiles, purchase specifications, test procedures, manufacturing procedures, design master records, and inspection procedures - Analyzed testing data using Minitab and authored test reports and protocols- Conducted risk analysis and discussed my test findings at weekly project meetings

- Assisted in production and testing of the THERMIva, a device that uses radiofrequency energy to heat tissue- Trained to use ultrasonic welders, soldering irons, and UV light machines in sterile environments for production- Designed fixtures using Solidworks, 3D printing, CNC mills, and lathes to increase efficiency of production of THERMIva as well as hypodermic needles- Helped company pass ISO13485 certification by creating equipment profile forms and IQ/OQ/PQ’s for all machinery - Trained new employees to become familiar with productions of THERMIva and related machinery
