I am a financial storyteller. Owning the Job Cost process allows me to provide the where, when, why the costs are what they are. Understanding the costs provides a clear picture of where we are and where we have been so we can forecast the direction we are heading. I work with our Project Managers on our monthly job closes, cost to completes, and job forecasting. I work with senior management to provide internal labor and equipment rates that reflect accurate burdened costs. I provide information on work being done and billing statuses to ensure we are billing in the appropriate period. Partnering with Project Managers allows for a more efficient Accounts Receivable process with protocols that prevent billable hours from slipping through. I implemented a new chart of accounts for equipment repair costings. This new looks coupled with a new electronic time and tracking process provided better diagnostic review and increase payroll efficiency.I executed a new electronic reporting for one of our companies and rolled out electronic reporting for our remaining personal that were still reporting on traditional timecards. By controlling the data inputs, we increase operation reporting accuracy and timeliness with allows for better decisions. Our new systems also significantly reduce the data entry required. I provide monthly fiscal reporting for our aggregate operations. I code production to assist management with inventory. Provide a cost of goods for pricing and margin analysis. I changed the process of reporting capital activities to allows for cleaner reporting and better operational management.

I converted data into actionable information for the internal equipment center, liquid asphalt storage terminals, and the manufacturing division. My primary focus was owning the following processes: Monthly and annual closes for the four liquid asphalt terminals and their inventories. Monthly and annual closes for dozens of gravel pits and limestone quarries, along with their drilling, blasting, crushing, and inventory activities. I was responsible for the fixed asset accounting for hundreds of capitalized pieces across five separate entities. Major projects I have been the point person on are: Creating operational reports that increased efficient operations of the drilling and blasting business unit and the crushing operations. These reports allowed for daily review by management teams to affect positive change next day. Created financial reports and report packages for the manufacturing division. Recreate the reporting structure for the drilling and blasting unit after several ad-hoc reports showed a negative impact to profitability was being masked by an unintentional cost shift to the equipment center. The new chart of accounts mirrored the business units cost drivers and gave leaders daily information to drive cost efficient operations. I worked primarily with Oracle's JDE (AS400) and Hubble / Insight reporting and MS Excel.

The staff accountant preformed all accounting functions for the rental communities, generating monthly closes and monthly reporting for the CFO. The staff accountant also assisted the Controller with the home building division. * Monthly cash reconciliation for nine rental communities, two commercial entities, and over twenty Home Owner and Condo Owner associations.* Monthly closes and financial reporting to senior management, association board members, and lenders.* Maintain and update the fixed asset accounting system for internal and tax books.* Ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger by checking A/P and A/R entries and entries made in the Property Management software.* Prepare and Maintain work-papers for yearly audit and year-end financial close. * Prepare monthly settlement entries between contractors and operational bank accounts. * Ad-Hoc reporting from Sage Timberline, Open Data Base Connectivity, and MS Excel.

The Resident Account Manager was responsible for all resident financial matters for a dual community with over six hundred units with a monthly rent roll of over $500,000. The Resident Account Manager would report to the Community Manager and the company Controller.* Collect and post all rents and send out delinquent notices for all residents by the fourth of each month.* Compile daily and weekly and monthly reports for the corporate accounting team. * Maintain all computer and paper records for all residents to a level that would allow for a due diligence audit with two hour notice.* Handle all legally required move-out settlement letters and collection efforts.* Defuse all resident concerns about financial matters.
