Artswork is part of a national network of Arts Council England funded organisations. Our job is to ensure all children and young people experience the richness of the arts both in and outside of school.We have been funded £4.7m of National Lottery money to deliver this role from 2012 to 2015. Artswork is one of 10 Bridge organisations nationally who support the Arts Council’s strategic work with children and young people.As a Bridge, Artswork connects arts and cultural organisations, children and young people, families and schools across the South East of England.We also further enhance and strengthen the learning offer of arts and cultural organisations through increased connectivity, skills and development and knowledge exchange.We act as champions for Artsmark and the Arts Award in the South East, maximising these as key tools for schools, arts organisations, local authorities and other partners including the youth sector.

Hampshire County Council h engaged Artswork as a project partner to work with it to deliver the Hampshire Young Creatives Programme 2011/12. This built on the programme of activity achieved in the Find Your Talent - PUSH (Partnership for Urban South Hampshire) pathfinder programme delivered between 2009 – 2011. The ProgrammeThe focus of the programme was:• to develop cultural experiences for young people aged 0 – 19 outside of the formal school day or setting• to develop activities with cultural partners in museums, libraries, archives and countryside as well as with arts partners• to engage with community-based organisations as instigators and drivers of the programmes of activity in partnership with the cultural organisations.

A large-scale Government funded initiative to give children and young people the opportunity to access and experience different cultural activities. Worked as an arts consultant for six years in areas such as public art commissioning, strategic planning, organisational development and project management. Key achievements:• A feasibility study and business plan for a new £1 million capital development that would enable Aspex Gallery to relocate to the prestigious location of Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.http://www.aspex.org.uk/• Cordinated Art at the Centre-Slough, working with landscape architects and over 25 artists in creating a vision for the redesign of the High Street and on a number of temporary art projects with young people. Responsible for developing capital and regeneration strategies for the Regional Arts Board and managing a number of related programmes.Key achievements:• The management of a regional capital development programme, with a total value of £164,000,000,. The programme significantly enhanced the existing arts infrastructure and created new buildings and facilities in key areas ranging from the new Theatre and Art Gallery in Milton Keynes to a production facility for Forest Forge Theatre Company.• The development and management of the ‘Art at the Centre’ initiative. A regional pilot scheme demonstrating the significant contribution of art in the public realm to the quality of urban design, the sense of place, the atmosphere and – in the long term – the reputation generated by city and town centre developments.

Engaged on a fixed term contract as the first Arts Development Officer for the Isle of Wight to develop an Arts Strategy and produce the first Island-wide arts festival.

Established Business in the Arts South, the regional office of what is now Arts & Business. Developed a range of partnerships between businesses and the arts including the provision of a business placement scheme and a board development programme.

Responsible for developing and managing the seven Hampshire County Council arts centres.

The first Director of The Arts Connection, a regional arts and disability agency creating greater access to the arts for disabled people as both practitioners and participants. Enabled the organisation to develop to serve Hampshire, West Sussex and the Isle of Wight.
