These systems were written in Wang Cobol ported from the original Wang systems to networked microcomputers. The work consisted of 75 to 80 percent updates and enhancements of the existing programs and 20 percent new development and documentation. I also developed a program that allowed the user to find all versions of an existing file or program on the various drives used in development as an aid to version control.

Involved in the development of a batch and on-line system to enter, update and track both Retailer and Manufacturer fees allowing NCH to bill customers with greater transparency and accuracy. Participated in a project to allow the Retailer system nightly batch processing to be completed early enough to load daily updates to a web based customer facing application the next morning rather than after a 24 hour delay; this involved working with operations to determine if jobs could be run in parallel rather than sequentially and ways to eliminate processing delays such as waiting for files to become available. Successful completion of this project in a condensed time frame earned both Company and customer recognition.Participated in all phases of the conversion of all mainframe based batch and CICS Cobol systems to Micro Focus Cobol on a server based system, the existing Compuware database system was also converted to a Microsoft SQL Server database at that time. Completed an enhancement to the Open Interest Application for BOTCC, which included changes to both ADS/O dialogs and COBOL II programs and completed documentation of the Open Interest system and workflow using Visio. Participated in a major conversion of the Clearing Corporation’s existing clearing systems, both batch and online, to allow another clearing organization to process their trades through the BOTCC data center. More than 1000 programs and 500 job streams were analyzed for possible changes and approximately 650 programs, using a variety of data access methods including VSAM files along with IMS and DB2 databases. As well as modification of all the JCL job streams in order to meet the requirements of this project. Also involved in addressing a number of customer support issues; including an enhancement to existing programs to allow for the correct pricing of new commodities, as well as enhancing and repairing various programs, which feed data to the Trade Timing Analysis system. The Board of Trade Clearing Corporation used Xpediter and File-Aide for testing and data verification of programming enhancements and repairs.
