As a member of Medtronic's corporate research polymer team:- Developed reaction/diffusion/mechanical model to uncover a potential failure mechanism of lead insulation and predict susceptibility of future device models- Designed and built a reactor for a new biostable soft polymer, which has 2 patents pending- Designed experiments and developed a thermodynamic model for rationalizing a change in the ASTM accelerated shelf life aging protocol- Provided internal consulting and subject matter expertise for Medtronic business units involving accelerated aging, foreign material identification, competitor analysis, material selection, sterilization compatibility, test method selection, and data interpretation- Invented a test method which reproducibly measures dissolved oxygen permeability of various soft polymers- Developed test methods involving custom hardware/software programming for accelerated wear, accelerated polymer fatigue, creep/stress relaxation- Experienced in FTIR, GPC, SEM/EDS, 1H NMR, GC/MS, DMA, DSC, confocal scanning laser microscopy, optical microscopy, tensile/compression techniques as well as Python, MATLAB, Arduino, MTS, LoggerPro, LABView, Minitab, Solidworks software programs
