I work to develop and apply simulation models and other digital tools to improve the sustainability of farming systems, with a particular interest in water quality impacts and greenhouse gas emissions. I also work in the social, economic and policy dimensions of achieving impact in these areas. My research has won international awards and had substantial policy impact. In addition I: • Represent CSIRO on the APSIM Initiative, the Joint Venture that own and produces the Agricultural systems simulator.• Represent Agriculture and Food Business Unit on CSIRO's Great Barrier Reef Steering Committee. • Have served on national and international science advisory committees.• Am a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
