My journey starts in, Ireland where I grew up. From a young age, I was always an underachiever and never took education seriously, mainly because academia wasn’t my strong point. However, I was mature enough to understand education was a huge contributor to achieve a healthy and successful career. During my A-levels, I faced a huge pitfall which shook me to my core. I failed and got an E and 2 F’s. I didn’t even know an E was a grade! At that point I knew I didn’t want to fail and I wanted to achieve. I want to win in life and that failure scared me. I promised my teachers I would work, they didn’t believe me, but I did. I pulled that E to an A and my other 2 subjects to B’s. I got the highest coursework grade the examination bored had ever received which lead to me achieving my A in media studies. I am that example person a school uses every year to motivate others to show anything is possible if you put the work in. I then moved to, Scotland where I studied Marketing as I gained a keen interest in the subject. After graduating, I explored my options in that field, but nothing truly called to me. Deep down I always wanted my own business. Something I can say is mine and craft it to my own liking…but a business doing what? I searched for ideas, while some shown a little interest, most shown none… I didn’t want to be a sheep and do something from a suggestion to follow what others are doing. Then I learnt I was looking in the wrong place. I found a problem, and I wanted to solve that problem. That problem was social media... Social media platforms are possibly the best things ever created, but they all show a common problem. They focus on presenting and living our lives online. None of them focused on improving our offline lives. So I created CATCHI. An app that focuses on promoting healthy living online and offline. I knew this is what I was put on this earth to do because I have absolutely loved creating it. I used lockdown to my advantage and spent the time designing and developing the app. I love my app and I know others will to. CATCHI is a force for good that will change the social landscape and shake the way we socialise.
