Peter has worked in the field of human services and developmental disabilities for over 45 years. He pioneered the development of community homes for individuals with disabilities in New York. He has developed over 70 programs and residences for people with disabilities during his career. In 1998, with his colleagues and Melmark, Inc. they developed Melmark New England, a program in Andover MA that grows in reputation and positive impact each year on behalf of children with autism spectrum disorders. His Advancement efforts resulted in a successful capital campaign to acquire and renovate the Andover school building--an $8.5M project. Peter has been a leader in international staff networks and has seen the development of services in other countries grow out of the opportunites staff had to work and train at his worksites.During his many years living in Chatham on Cape Cod, Peter has contributed much to the community via service on the School Committee; Chair of School Building Committee; President of Chatham Athletic Association. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Cape Cod Baseball League, nationally recognized as the premier summer league of top NCAA baseball talent. His fund-raising efforts resulted in a full renovation of Veterans Field, home of the Chatham Anglers. In 2011 Peter and his wife Diane were presented with the Cape Cod Baseball League Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual CCBL Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.Specialties: In 1986 Peter initiated a global recruitment network for persons with degrees in psychology to come to USA to be trained to work with children with autism. This resulted in on-going relationships with universities in Ireland, UK, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Germany, Denmark, and Norway. Subsequently, these relationships grew to include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. The addition of these personnel made a critical difference at the time of staff shortages.
