The requirements of this role were to support the teams across all assets and functions in leveraging BHP’s Improvement Framework and benefits value capture system (Wave, a proprietary McKinsey platform) to define and execute their Improvement plans. Work undertaken (not exhaustive): • Champion for Wave, BHP’s Improvement Benefits capture system - Cleansheeting of Wave’s configuration to streamline it to suit BHP’s needs - Ensuring BHP’s Global Specification to Improvement and Wave functionality are aligned - Continually engaging with McKinsey development team to ensure Wave suits BHP’s needs, and supports BHP’s improvement activity into the future through e-learning and improved User Interface - Scoping system upgrades and testing• Partnering across all Minerals Australia and Functions: - Providing assistance including ‘Late stage intervention’ in driving improvement pipelines to completion to ensure targets are achieved. - Influencing and assisting team leaders in defining, establishing and running routines to promote Improvement activity• Working with Finance and business leaders in target setting and providing progress reporting, - Building and leveraging dashboards and visualization tools eg Spotfire and recently with Power BI - Advisor to frontline, Improvement and Finance teams in relation to Wave and Improvement Framework to - Project Managing of initiatives to ensure delivery of improvement benefits• Senior Leader engagement: - Involved in preparation of several board papers for example, regarding Value of BHP’s Improvement pipeline

Over the last 13 years at BHP I have worked in strategy, studies and improvement roles. Most recently I was in BHP’s Asset Performance & Improvement team which partners with all assets to identify and deliver improvement initiatives. This has involved helping project leverage the Improvement Framework to define and achieve various improvement (mainly EBITDA related targets). My prior roles at BHP were heavily focused on options analysis and business case development around capital projects and strategic planning.

This role reported to the Head of Improvement (Iron Ore), where the requirements were helping the Iron Ore teams identify and ultimately execute improvement initiatives Work undertaken (not exhaustive): • Iron Ore Champion for Wave, BHP’s Improvement Benefits capture system - Promoted the use of Wave within Iron Ore to capture and report on Improvement progress• Building and delivering the annual pipeline of Improvement Initiatives - Assisted teams in identifying improvement initiatives and executing to full value and on schedule in order to meet unit-cost targets• Workforce productivity - Helped to establish the business’ first holistic quantification of Iron Ore’s Workforce by considering both Employees and contractors in workforce benchmarking - Reported on progress of Workforce Efficiency programs

This role reported to the Head of Studies, where our key mandate was to deliver Identification Phase Studies (IPS), but also covered early stage ‘pre-IPS’ work. Work undertaken (not exhaustive): • Lead and support role in refining Outerharbour alternate options • Kurra FIFO Village IPS, A$130m capex, successful tollgate 1: Lead role in assessing regional options to secure required accommodation in the East Pilbara• Central Pilbara Rail options analysis: Lead and support role in coordinating a BHPBIO-wide team initiative in reconfirming preferred rail alignments out of the Central Pilbara to enable future expansion• Central Pilbara High Voltage Transmission Line pre-IPS• Port Hedland Residential Accommodation ‘strategic SPS’ – successful tollgate 1• Port Hedland Background Dust Study • Assorted pre-IPS activity to facilitate business steering decisions• Utilities Masterplan: Developed and recommended a strategy for distribution of fuel throughout the Pilbara, optimizing for value, optionality and safety• Port Hedland Fuel Import Options Study • Others: work in supporting capital budgeting, water planning, ad hoc modeling

Reporting to the investment committee, publishing equities research in the resources sectorResponsibilities:• Coverage in both lead and support roles - Institutional grade research coverage of ASX-listed companies focusing on energy related commodities. Attended site trips across Africa to supplement research• Financial Modeling and analysis - various methods of numerical analysis assist in identifying opportunities and to support the investment, DCF modelling, $/t metrics, multiples valuation and transaction analysis• Built strong stakeholder relationships - Liaising with various industry participants across c-suite level as well as technical production and exploration staff from ASX listed companies, private companies, corporate advisors, institutional and retail brokers and other research analysts• Utilized market information platforms, company and industry research

Responsibilities:• Valuations and Business Modeling - Built, reviewed and updated financial models and undertook valuations at the project or company levels to support M&A activity, strategic insight, or satisfying regulatory requirements (asset impairments, shareholder independent expert reports for ASIC)• Undertook industrial and economic research to support numerical analyses - Industry experience was varied with a focus on mining and resources sectors including bulk commodities, base metals, aluminum, petroleum and salt - Liaised frequently with blue-chip clients such as Woodside, Wesfarmers, BHP and Iinet
