I'm a scientist and model developer with over a decade of experience in climate change and flood risk. I'm interested in how changes in extreme weather events due to global warming can be represented in flood inundation models. At Fathom I work to improve our flood modelling products, both for present day flood risk and considering future changes. My knowledge and understanding of both climate and hydrology helps us use science to drive model developments.I have a strong interest in machine learning, which I've used in the production of the FABDEM terrain model, which was the first global bare-earth model of its kind. My experience in climate science includes climate model development, and analysis of extremes. My research at the University of Oxford looked at attributing the influence of climate change on extreme weather events to past climate change, while my PhD at the University of Bristol investigated future changes in flood risk, focusing on the flood prone region around Bangladesh. I previously worked at CSIRO in Australia on the ACCESS climate model which contributed to the International Panel for Climate Change reports.
