Dr Pete Valentine is currently working as a Clinical Anaesthetic Fellow in Paediatric Intensive Care at the Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust, UK. Pete began training in 2002 at the University of Nottingham and graduated as a Doctor in 2007. Pete then worked for the NHS in the Southwest of England for 2 years before he began his Anaesthetics Training in the Oxford Deanery in 2010. After completing his Royal College Of Anaesthetists Diploma of Anaesthetics Pete, moved to Darwin Australia. This gained him valuable experiences in the Australian Healthcare System, Indigenous Australian Health and in giving Anaesthetics in this unique environment. Whilst in Australia Pete worked at the Royal Darwin Hospital as an Anaesthetics Registrar and also for Careflight, as a Critical Care Retrieval Registrar.During his training Pete has also developed interests in Wilderness, Expedition and Developing world medicine. In particular Altitude Medicine. This has allowed him to offer Medical Support on expeditions in Borneo, Peru, Patagonia, Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp. Pete' s aim is to become an Anaesthetic Consultant and to continue to develop his interests by working in developing countries in the South Pacific, Asia and Africa.
