I’m a university student ready to take the communications world by storm. I’m currently achieving my communications degree here in South Carolina with full expectations to graduate early next year.Having lived such a short life, my experience may be lacking in business experience, but it’s not lacking in life experience.I started my own company – in ChapStick during my Freshman year. Yep, you heard that right. I saw a need with all the women (and men) at my university who couldn’t get the perfect ChapStick that they wanted (something to keep their lips moist for longer than 10 minutes). I filled the by creating a Eco-friendly organic chapstick which made 800$ dollars in the first month. The company has been stopped but I have learned a ton of marketing and communications skills from that experience using that expertise in my e-commerce business and other business ventures.I’m excited to start my career in communications – especially on the social media side. So many companies are only doing half of what they could with social media, especially the small to mid-size companies. It’s not hard to do, but it’s hard to communicate the right things to the right audience and then get them to purchase those products or services.
