The George W. Bush Presidential Library And Museum
I was a shift supervisor at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, located on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. The Museum is a 207,000 square feet level 4 security building on 23 acres and is the second largest presidential library, behind only the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. The Museum is home to priceless artifacts, art pieces, documents, and gifts given to the President, the First Lady, and the people of the United States of America while in office. As a shift supervisor, I insured that the thirteen officer's under my supervision followed post orders and enforced the rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the National Archives and Records Administration. My duties included monitoring CCTV's, fire alarms, VESDA alarms, door alarms, glass break alarms, generator alarms, access to secure parking lots, key card access, hard key access, escorts to restricted area's, foot patrols, contractor and visitor logs, mail logs, medical emergencies, daily activity reports, and truck barrier and bollard control. I was responsible for the mounting and dismounting of all officer's firearms to be stored in our onsite armory that only supervisors had access to.I am proficient with x-ray machines, magnetometers, hand held magnetometers, pat downs, handcuffing, ASP, OC spray, verbal judo, written incident reports, delegating work and micro managing of all my officer's. I am certified quarterly for CPR and AED training with all certificates current. I am well trained for fire alarms, active shooters, tornado's, code Adam's, unattended packages, bomb threats, inclement weather, and the handling of the media. As a shift supervisor I am responsible for coordinating with Personal Protective Officer's for high profile figures and their security details for scheduled after hour functions and events.
