Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University teaching on a variety of courses including the Professional Certificate in Trade Mark Practice, LLM IP and LLB IP.

I was a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney with the Trade Mark and Domain Name Group working from the Cambridge Office.I have experience across a wide range of sectors and practice areas. I have a particular interest in online trade mark matters and domain name proceedings and am Chair of the CITMA Domain Name Working Group and a member of the Law and Practice Committee.I worked with clients in many sectors, including retail, fashion, drinks, publishing, finance, technology and charity. My work spanned the full range of trade mark matters; enhancing, developing and protecting client trade mark portfolios as well as providing tailored strategies taking into account the different pressures and priorities faced by different clients.I have a particular interest in trade marks in the online sphere; an increasingly important area for clients.This included many successes in UDRP and Nominet DRS proceedings to recover domain names for clients. I provided advice on domain name strategies and advising as to domain name acquisition and portfolio management. I also gained experience with online monitoring and enforcement on various marketplace and social media platforms as well as providing advice on adword related issues. Finally I advised and dealt with design registrations and more recently copyright registrations (where available) to develop alternative forms of IP protection as an alternative or to complement trade mark. I had experience before the Companies Name Tribunal and with s.67 Complaints. I am familiar with copyright related mattes and in particular their intersection with trade mark rights.
