The Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate works at improving safety, confidence and sustainability in regard to transport, infrastructure, environment and housing

The Inspectorate SZW, Criminal Investigation Department, is detecting fraud, exploitation and organised crime within the chain of work and income (exploitation in employment, human trafficking and large-scale fraud in the area of social security). This work is carried out under the direction of the Public Prosecution Service.As an advisor it is my task to support the investigations and the operational teams by providing strategic advice. The investigations on human trafficking have my specific attention. European cooperation is an essential part of my daily job. As action leader on Labour Exploitation I am coordinating and organising European planning events and action weeks.

At the Law Enforcement Department I was able to participate in the process of policy making. It was my task to work as an intermediate between the Ministry of Security and Justice and different organisations, such as law enforcement agencies and law enforcement advisory boards.

At Europol I was able to share my experiences as seconded national expert, targeting a European approach of the combat of trafficking human beings for the purpose of labour exploitation.

The SIOD (Social Security Intelligence and Investigation Service) has the focus on the organised abuse of the Dutch social system by the start of criminal investigations. As policy advisor it was my tasking to provide legal and policy support to the investigators of the operational teams and to support the director with policy support.

As objection and appeals officer of the Social Security (UWV) I was acting as an advisor in appeal and as the legal representative of the UWV in court cases.
