Projects - Various Projects for Bechtel Water (United Utilities)Bechtel Telecom - Data centres/POPS throughout Europe and UKAs Projects Manager for Farebrother Projects it was my responsibility to ensure the successful completion of all projects to the client’s specification and satisfaction, on time and within budget.Along with the Commercial Manager I was responsible for taking Projects through from contract award to final account. Developing cost plans, detailed programmes, manpower histograms, managing all subcontractor interfaces including Electrical, Civil, Mechanical etc, and overseeing design co-ordination issues.Farebrother Projects core business was founded in the Water and Process industries with typical M&E contracts ranging from £1 million to £5.5 million.Relationships with Bechtel Water extended our client base to include Bechtel Telecom resulting in the award of several contracts in Germany and France circa £5 million.

Projects - Shajio ‘C’ coal fired power station (China) Blackpoint combined cycle (Hong Kong) Sual coal fired power station (Philippines)Responsible for all aspects of electrical design and installation relating to a major turnkey project. Duties included upfront discussion with civil contractors and partners with regard to plant layout, assessing vendor and partner’s information for E & I design purposes. Subsequent supervision of the design of cabling systems based on P &ID ‘s DCS I/O schedules load lists etc.I was also involved in the design interfaces with the French Boiler manufacture Stein Boilers in Paris and also attendances at client meetings in both UK and France to report progress and agree design milestones.

Project -Channel TunnelInvolved in the preparation of equipment specifications for electrical equipment for use within the tunnel environment, this included specialist lighting fittings, sockets, pushbuttons etc. A common design was agreed with French counterparts Spie at regular design coordination meetings in France and the UKThe final nine months were spent at site assisting in the installation and commissioning in both the UK and France.
