I have over 28 years of experience as a duel traded Electrical Instrument technician, recently completing an advanced diploma in electrical and instrumentation, which is higher than a cert 4 in instrumentation.I have mostly worked in the field of instrumentation process control across most industries in the areas maintenance, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and completions, the last 7 or so years in South Korea on Woodside North Rankin 2 upgrade, Gorgon for KBR/Chevron, and Shell’s Prelude FLNG. In the areas of construction and commissioning managing teams to complete packages.I have Experience with Instrumentation and Mechanical Package inspections, QA Inspection and Test Records including EEHA (IEX Ex certification) Detailed inspections. In these rolls, safety is a vital part of the workscope, to protect not only yourself, but the people around you. This goes beyond the obvious glasses and hard hats that everyone bangs on about, it goes into the work flow, the processes of how to do a particular job the hazards that people don’t see, like load failure and ricochet of falling equipment, line of fire and above all, process safety “keeping the stuff inside the pipes” Job hazard analysis is vital, stepping back to take 5 minutes to review what you are about to do can save a minor injury or your life.I have worked in many countries with diverse cultures, religions and languages. I have found this rewarding both in my personal life as well as my professional. The most recent project (Prelude FLNG) having over 80 countries represented on site. I have worked in most industry areas, Oil and Gas, Power generation, Water disinfection and reticulation, Council utilities, Nuclear, Fine Chemical and Pharmaceuticals, to metal ore and extraction across Australia, South Korea, and Europe.I know I cannot make the world a better place, I will however start by where I am.
