Profile bio

About Peter Waring

I'm an accomplished leader, researcher, and programme manager with more than 18 years experience. I thrive in high-profile, high-pressure environments, offering an impressive list of successes across the research, military, and government domains. This includes serving as an expert consultant with the United Nations, leading a science mission to Antarctica, and co-creating the multi-award winning Audible Original Podcast, Deepest Dive: The Search for MH370. I have an advanced academic background that includes masters degrees in geopolitics, strategy and security. In 2016, I moved to London after an 11-year career as an officer in the Australian Navy. My time in the military was an incredible education, I learned to lead people in challenging circumstances and grew to value the importance of ideals like teamwork, humility, and integrity. Most importantly, I was exposed to different ways of solving problems and making sense of the world. Since leaving the navy I have built my career internationally, leading innovation projects for the United Nations, managing multi-disciplinary research efforts and creating award winning media content. These experiences have underscored my belief in the effectiveness of a diverse and multi-perspective approach to problem solving; not as an abstract ideal or meaningless platitude, but as the result of hard-won practical experience. I have a proven record of working independently and as a part of a team, and I take pride in my self-discipline, curiosity, and independence of mind.

Listed skills include Public Speaking, Research, Project Management, Open Source Intelligence, and 29 others.
