I have completed Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Computer Games Development in AIT. My final year project was a 3D campus app integrated into the Ait app. The AIT 3D MAP APP is a 3D representation of the college campus that will allow the user to search for buildings, class rooms and points of interest. The main purpose is to develop an interactive 3d campus map, to give the user a better understanding of Athlone Institute of Technology’s campus. It has the following features a search bar so the user can search for rooms, a birds eye view which can let the user see the entire campus from a overhead view, a gps system that when the user turns on gps the camera will start in that position and waypoints to show the user the route they are going to take and A* shortest path algorithm to work out the quickest way to their destination.I have done a 6 month internship in AIT as part of my placement in 3rd year. I had to have a working prototype of a 3d graphics engine. I collected all the relevent infromation and stored them in classes from a collada file (.dae file) which I created in Blender(3D modeling software) and displayed the object on screen.
