I was on the Law Society Council for a period some years ago and, since October 2020, I am again the Council member for Dorset (which includes the Bournemouth conurbation). Many thanks to those Law Society Council members colleagues who voted me into the Chair of the Membership and Communications Committee (MCC) and onto the main Law Society Board as from January 2022.The MCC is focused on improving the Law Society’s engagement with Solicitors. Solicitors are busy people and gaining their attention to get our messages over is a fascinating challenge.We have a whole stream of excellent projects under development. We are looking at improving our communications and social media, our awards, our sections and communities, our links with local Law Societies, the resources we offer, our training offer, our website, our events and much more. It is a long list. But should be interesting.

I stepped down from my role as Senior partner and Chairman of the firm at the end of January 2018. I worked at the firm from 1983, became a partner in 1985 and was Chairman for a number of years. I am an experienced divorce lawyer specialising in resolving the financial division following divorce and I also dealt with Will disputes, probate administrations and related matters. I remain as a consultant to the firm but am no longer taking on client matters.
