My personal career spans more than 40 years in the City of London. I joined Lloyds Bank, Finsbury Circus branch in July 1979 and after 7 years, left to join Thornton Group, an up and coming Fund Management company, as International Settlements Manager. In the late 80's, I progressed to become an investment manager and in 1993 set up my own investment company, Eaglet Investment Trust PLC. I subsequently joined Granville Bank, where I held a board position and retained management of Eaglet, as well as responsibility for building an institutional and private investor following in the very important UK smaller companies sector. In 2000, I bought out my partners and launched the hugely successful FM company, Unicorn Asset Management that still exists today. Following the sad loss of Eaglet to speculators in late 2007, I left Unicorn in 2008 to take some time out and focus on new business ventures. In subsequent years, I have continued to develop my passion for UK smaller companies and have managed several top-performing unit trusts. I have also polished off my corporate advisory skills, raising funds and finding buyers for a number of successful companies. I am nowadays a multi-faceted individual, who can deliver a diverse range of services to businesses that include equity and debt instruments and alternative finance. However, my unique understanding of how the most successful companies have become so and the key attributes that investors, funders and buyers look for in a business, remains at the core of my service offering. My extensive network of long established and successful business people, means that I can sometimes deliver better results for a client than much larger service providers!
