Supervised all key operations/functions of the aerostat, to include all launch, mooring station, and recovery operations.The primary function of the JLENS Flight Director is to take command of all aspects of the aerostat flight operations, and include:-Directs the launch, on-station, and recovery operations-Directs all activities of the aerostat flight crew to ensure the proper performance of their duties-Conducting safe and efficient flight operations-Compute all flight parameter calculations on Standard Gross Lift (SGL), weight & balance, and optimum altitude-Plan the launch, on-station, and recovery details and make crew duty assignments-Conduct preflight and post flight briefings, including any special mission requirements-Ensure that automatic operation of the aerostat pressurization system blowers, ballonet valves, and helium valve is selected during normal flight operations.-Assess weather and mission ready status of all personnel and equipment associated with aerostat operations at all times.-Direct all movements of the aerostat in flight based on mission requirements, weather constraints, or other operating concerns.-Direct all moored activities including aerostat snubbing, payload installation and removal, tether replacements, and helium fill to maintain the SGL for optimum altitude

While serving as a Tactical Control Officer in the US Army, I acted as the senior advisor and mentor to the commanders of multiple Air Missile Defense (AMD) Systems. My duties included supervision of the employment and operations of the AMD systems, advising the commander on the capabilities and limitations of the AMD system, and supervision of the maintenance conducted on the equipment used by the unit. I was expected to monitor the AMD system and related support equipment to detect, diagnose and repair operator errors and/or system malfunctions. My additional duties included, coaching, teaching, mentoring, and evaluating Soldiers in AMD system operation. I would also instruct tactics, techniques, and maintenance procedures. Lastly I was expected to implement proper safety and security procedures applicable to the operation and maintenance support of the AMD system.
