Mechanical engineer and point of contact for plant engineering in polymers manufacturing. Projects include machine design, piping systems, pump and motor-related installations and fixes, vessel replacements, flowmeter and control valve sizing and installation, level and safety interlock implementation, and troubleshooting general problems. Project reasons included replacements, emergency fixes, regulatory compliance, reliability improvements, safety improvements, and capital projects (<$500k). Worked with a team of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers to aid maintenance and operations (chemical engineers) in finding solutions to existing and evolving problems. Also completed a rotation through the onsite fabrication building where I was able to shadow fabricators and machinists and learn how parts and assemblies are made (1 x a week for 6 months).
