Having completed school as a slightly above average leaver, I boycott college and Uni and spread myself around finding work I may enjoy. Several jobs later, and a love of aircraft, I found myself serving tea, coffee and showing thousands where their nearest exits were for the next 4 years. When my new found aspiration to be a commercial airline pilot was thwarted by the sheer expense of it, I decided to do the next best thing that I enjoyed building and fixing "stuff". What a contrast to now! but boy, did the airline training serve to allow me to communicate at any level! I was always interested in the building side of things with days off, assisting on small sites, sponging everything I could and building stuff. So, at 30, a marriage and a bun in the oven, I went for it and started a small partnership for internal works. I was an apprentice I suppose. 19 years on, a small construction firm, development company and a small portfolio later, I am pretty pleased with our position.Having virtually done everyone else's job in the construction industry at some level, I have now, the expertise to engage at all levels. A vital attribute in any business. Time to strike for the next goals!!
