I started my career in motorsport in 1986 at March Engineering at the age of 25. In the succeeding 32 years I have shared my time between the design and race engineering of many cars, from F3000 to F1 and LMP1 Sportscars. I was the project leader on Lola's LMP1 sportscars of 1998 - 2002, responsible for the whole concept and performance development. I was the Chief Engineer at Dyson Racing, USA, for 13 years, combining both disciplines of development design and race engineering on both LMP Sportscars, from Lola and Porsche, and more recently on the Bentley Continental GT3 car we race in the Pirelli World Challenge.I have been lucky enough to engineer cars that are both modern and cutting edge, with data acquisition measuring every parameter, to wonderful historic cars from the 60's, 70's and 80's. Cars like the Ford GT40, Lotus Cortina Mk1, Porsche 962, Lola T380 and Lancia LC2.I like to combine my passion for motorsport, with its lightweight, efficient and competitive designs, with the design of custom motorcycles, that will be judged in competitions, as I enjoy the freedom to design with a more artistic flair that this offers. I have worked with renowned local custom bike builder, Hawg Haven, on a couple of their award winning designs, which was fascinating and very rewarding. I would like to design a new custom bike in the near future and turn lots of fresh ideas into metal!For the 2016 season, I'm delighted to be engineering the David Appleby Engineering Aston Martin Vantage GT4 car in the Britiish GT Championship.
