My main responsibilities for the purchasing of a wide range of materials both "off the shelf" and bespoke components. These included Castings, Fabrications, Steels, Electronic Components, Hardware, Pneumatics, Building materials, Vehicle Lease, Energy Supplies, Site Security, Steel Supplies, Site waste recycling contracts.In my early days with the company i was heavily involved in the re-negotiation of 'timed out' agreements that were being exploited by suppliers. These suppliers of course were my primary target and suffice to say, this was sorted quickly.Other responsibilities included Supply Chain Management of components, Supplier Contract Management, Negotiations, Audits, Expediting of outstanding orders.My Engineering background was very useful when I was negotiating terms for service and maintenance contracts for FLT's, Compressed Air, Installations of AC Systems and many more.I had daily use of ERP/MRP Systems where all PO's were generated and BOM's were collated.Daily interaction with other depts. included Engineering Design, Production, Stores.
