I was a senior manager leading the Sustainability Team within Environment, Economy & Infrastructure - I matrix-managed project teams to develop and commission services to meet community needs. I was the corporate strategic lead for climate change and sustainability, for the council and Gloucestershire, and Fund Manager for the council's £1m Salix Recycling Fund.I led on developing the Council's latest climate change strategy and action plan, including achieving a corporate carbon emissions reduction of 78% in 2021/22 on 2006/07, saving over £2m pa, against a Net Zero/ 80% carbon reduction target by 2030. I led on commissioning £13.7m investment to convert 60,000 street lights to LED with Central Management System and over the 12 year contract will save the council around £1.1m a year, through a 70% reduction in energy use and maintenance savings. I represent the Council as a member of: ADEPT’s Energy Sub-Group; GFirst LEP Energy Group; Glos Local Nature Partnership; Board member of the SW Net Zero Hub.I have worked in sustainability in local government since 1994 and led corporately on sustainability and climate change issues since 2006.
