I spent my first five years after University as an exploration geophysicist in Africa and Asia for the oil service industry, before settling in Germany and progressing into borehole geophysics. Following this I mentored two phD students at the ETH Zürich and qualified as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Trainer. I freelanced as a Trainer and Administrator for seven years before accepting an offer from the hang- and paraglider association Deutscher Hängegleiterverband as IT- and Research Project Manager. After ten years I returned to freelancing in programming and data analysis before hiring as an IT Operations Manager with kite, tent and paraglider manufacturer Skywalk GmbH.Following that, I worked as an Enterprise Systems Manager for the mountain sport retailer Bergzeit GmbH, while continueing to freelance as a Consultant for the sport aviation industry.In September 2019 I decided to try something completely different, and began working as an IT Teacher for the Privat Gymnasium Holzkirchen (50%). A whole world of new challenges, making IT fascinating for 11-16 year olds, and upgrading the school infrastructure for digital learning.
