CurrentStarted Top Gear Ltd in 1990 in Leicestershire as a car sales and service operation. Expanded to become the largest UK Bosch Service Centre with 11 technicians in 2006.In 2007 I organised a management buyout of the business to allow me to step down. Five members of staff purchased the business and took over the running of it, trading as Top Gear Services Ltd, to enable me to pursue other activities including car sales, electric bike sales and property investment.In 2012 I relocated to Penryn in Cornwall and am now operating a business specialising in selling electric bikes. Within two years we became the largest electric bike specialist in Cornwall, selling several quality brands.As well as my property investments in Leicestershire, I have purchased a superb commercial property in Penryn called Merchants Wharf which I have split into 3 business units. My bike shop occupies one, the second is a bed shop and the superb Bango Kitchen are in the third section. Despite these horrid times, all businesses are flourishing and will only get better.Although I still own my bike shop, I recently stepped down from the day to day running of the business as I have a superb team of young enthusiastic cycle guys who are taking the business to its next level. Very exciting times for all of us in the cycle trade and I now have time to enjoy my land yacht racing and other hobbies.We have just moved house to the picturesque village of Devoran with an acre of woodland, so think my retirement time is going to continue to be pretty busy.
