Blackberry / RIM Production Line - Unipart LogisticsKey Projects / Achievements:Component Quality / Failure Inspection Project, the project was to reduce the amount of component rejects the department was experiencing, in particular the main board of a blackberry Bold where we had built up a 76K of damaged components.Established at the times possible root cause as “Ineffective” component test process and simplified the process.Introducing an additional “quality control inspection” process into the line just prior to rejecting the component, using an active fully function phone to avoid ambiguity.Overall, using a team of 3 to perform additional functionality tests on failed components quickly established the component was not a reject.Net saving to the company over 4 months was 47K!DutiesManage a team of 30 people on a production line within a modern Repair Centre.Ensure the production line was operating according to hourly KPI.Quickly identify problems and escalations using Unipart Way tools to get to root cause analysis.Complete all team management tasks, disciplines and return to works.Monitor and manage all production line component requirement's against demand.Liaise with the clients, customer service, engineering and components and create good working relationships.Coach and train staff against SOP and sustain effective practice.

Assist the team leader to manage a team of 23 people supplying components according to demand to a busy repair centre.Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers, understanding their requirements and working closely with them to maintain and sustain performance.Co-ordinate monthly 1-1 with team members and set objectives and gaols according to business needs.Liaise with suppliers to reduce stock levels, maintain cost effective stock average use against demand and forecast.
