In the short/medium term, I am open to considering appropriate Interim/project opportunities in the food sector (Retail & Foodservice) to utilise my Commercial and Operational expertise.

Responsibility for six Country Style sites, covering Frozen Desserts, Chilled/Ambient Cakes and Bread products. Established systems of measurement, reporting and profit improvement across the sites, with additional responsibility for significant capital projects at a number of the sites.

I was involved in two Commercial consultancy roles.The first with a major Retailer and the second being in the Regional/Independent Retail and Foodservice markets.

Sheffield

Private equity owned £100m turnover business, acquired by Finsbury Foods plc in October 2014. Comprising £130m Bread Division (4 autonomous business units) and a £170m Cake Division Initially appointed as interim business turnaround specialist for the £50m t/o autonomous business unit supplying Fresh and Frozen Morning Goods products to the Retail and Foodservice sectors, Employing 500 staff.• Successfully restructured the total business in 2007 moving it from huge losses to break even within 6 months. This involved realigning customer/products, renegotiating all terms and conditions of employment, lowering overhead costs and reducing working capital.• By 2014 grown the business by £20m, back to the 2007 pre change level, with a profitability at the top end of the Private label food businesses.• Developed strategic customer relations with Tesco, Brakes and M&S that led to the £20m sales growth, along with the development of the Kara brand in the Foodservice sector.• Achieved both Bakery and Total Supplier of the Year award with Brakes in 2014. • Reduced overhead percentage of turnover from 32% to 20%• Identified the need to and implemented a revised procurement strategy for key Materials• Implemented an Operational improvement programme that secured over £2m savings through process changes, waste management, engineering modifications and labour controls• Embedded a culture of quality and Technical improvement that has led to consistent high level customer Audit results and reputation.• Instrumental in pulling together Due diligence data and liasing with potential purchasers of the Fletchers business• The huge turnaround of the Sheffield Business Unit over this period was pivotal to Fletchers Group of Bakeries being sold to Finsbury Foods for £56m

Hull, United Kingdom

Interim Role as General Manager of £45m turnover dedicated Asda Chilled Seafood business in Hull. 200 employees.• Delivered a major business change project. Developed the strategic direction of integrating the Hull Business unit into existing facilities in Grimsby. Targeted significant overhead savings and Capital avoidance• Planned and managed the project including: Product transfers, Asda interface, and full site closure resulting in 200 redundancies. Delivered on time and to budget.• Delivered £0.5m of efficiency savings• Generated an additional 2% of margin via price realisation, product engineering and Purchasing.

Lincolnshire

Private Equity owned Frozen Green Vegetable business with a £25m turnover supplying major retailers.• Improved cash performance by £1m through management of stocks & payment terms• Increased Sales with Iceland by £7m• Reduced costs by over £1m and halved customer complaints• Initiated and managed all legal/operational aspects of the sale of the Green Vegetable business to Christian Salvesen.

Grimsby Area

Promoted and developed in the Ross Youngs division of United Biscuits:-Youngs Chilled Fish - General Manager – 1994/1999£36m turnover chilled Seafood business, 50%+ supplied to M&S• Restructured the customer base and reshaped the operational cost structure. Delivering £2m of benefit• Grew M&S business by £7.0m. Created £5m Chilled Meals sales. £1m operational benefits and 10% reduction in Overhead costs.Ross Green Veg Business - Factory General Manager 1990/1994• Turnaround of the business enabling sale to Private Equity Company• Cost base & Working Capital reductions.
